[Biostudent] Study Abroad with COM AUT 24!

Good afternoon,

Are you interested in study abroad in Spain in Fall quarter 2024?

The program application deadline has been extended to March 1.

A few key details about our program:
· Based at the UW Center in León<https://depts.washington.edu/leonctr/>, a vibrant Spanish metro area of 200,000 about two hours north of Madrid by fast train
· An immersion experience in Spanish culture and traditions
· Open to all majors, with no prerequisites for any courses. You will be placed into a Spanish class based on your level of proficiency--from beginner to advanced.
· 15 credits - COM 464* (Writing With Voice), COM 389** (Race, Gender, and Sexuality in the Media), SPAN 199 (Foreign Study Spanish)
· Covered by the program fee:
o 15 UW credits - no additional tuition
o Home-stay lodging with a León family (private room)
o Three meals daily
o Excursions to Madrid, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Santiago de Compostela, Astorga, and Los Picos mountains
· Total cost is $7,935, which includes two Study Abroad administrative fees

*Both classes are open to COM majors and non-COM majors. There are no prerequisites for any of the three classes. COM 464 counts as an advanced elective for JPIC majors. **COM 389 counts as a Methods course.
