<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:black">Symposium Day</span></b><span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8pt"><span style="color:black">The day will begin at 9:30am with virtual sessions and then
there will be an in-person welcome at 11:00am in Mary Gates Hall by </span><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">UW </span><span style="color:black;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">Provost and Executive Vice President Mark Richards and Vice
Provost and Dean Ed Taylor who will congratulate presenters and announce the
recipients of the annual Undergraduate Research Mentor Awards. You can find the

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8pt"><b><span style="color:black">Presentations </span></b><span style="color:black">are
grouped into sessions by format and theme; you can search for your mentee’s
session in the </span><a href="https://expo.uw.edu/expo/apply/635/proceedings">Online Proceedings</a><span style="color:black"> where all of the students’ abstracts are now available. </span><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">All presentations take place on Friday,
May 20, and will happen in real time, Pacific Daylight Time. <i>Sessions will
not be available for viewing later.</i></span><span></span></p>
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black;vertical-align:baseline"><b>Poster sessions</b> are divided into four groups and will be held in Mary
Gates Hall. The sessions will be from 11:00am-1:00pm, 1:00-2:30pm,
2:30-4:00pm and 4:00-5:30pm. <span></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black;vertical-align:baseline"><b>Oral presentations</b> are divided into 2 groups, in classrooms in Mary Gates
Hall, from 1:30-3:00pm and 3:45-5:15pm. Each classroom has a moderator and
a session assistant (i.e., two volunteers). The presentations are expected
to be ~10 minutes long with 2 minutes for Q&A after each presenter. We
encourage everyone to stay for the entire session.<span></span></li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="color:black;vertical-align:baseline"><b>Virtual sessions</b> will be hosted via Zoom by a moderator and a session
assistant (i.e., two volunteers) from 9:30-11:00am and 12:00-1:30pm. There
will be a live Q&A period with each presenter after their video is
shown. Zoom links will be posted the day before the Symposium on the <a href="https://expo.uw.edu/expo/apply/635/proceedings">Symposium Proceedings</a>.
All are able to attend the Zoom sessions.<span></span></li>
