We will look at both historical and contemporary examples of this work; consider the literature emerging in neuroscience regarding how producing art "heals"; discuss the mechanics of facilitating community participation with respect and cultural sensitivity and explore partnerships between health and social service organizations with artists and cultural organizations. This course will be hybrid: there will be 5 weekly class meetings as well as asynchronous weekly assignments.
