[Athen] Question about the Telex Scholar Plus

Thanks Susan,

As one colleague noted - if you can get a DTB to work on a Telex Scholar then it will play on anything. The client in this case had invested in these players for student use and definitely wants them to be as multifunctional as possible.

For what we paid for this unit - and for what some of the other DAISY players on the market are priced at - I recommend that serious consideration be given to purchasing Netbooks and loading them with a variety of software.

When I was at Boston University we found it most cost effective to purchase the necessary software for DAISY playback and load it directly onto student personal computers.

Best --- Dann

| Wish I could help. Our Telex Scholars were POS's that we dumped as

| soon

| as they broke (within 60 days of purchase). Worst piece of adaptive

| technology I've ever had my hands on. We had trouble with them being

| able to read RFBD daisy books, most of our students brought the units

| back and asked for something different. They hated them too.
