[Athen] We lost our friend, Dick

Dear Norm,

It is with great sadness that I read about Dick today.
Just know that you are correct in believing that you were blessed with the love and care that you had with Dick in your life.  As I shared with Carol the other day, loss is a process of memories, smiles and tears.  I am thankful that I had smiles from Dick every time I saw him at CSUN, he was always so excited to see his many friends who shared this amazing field, called assistive technology.  I called Dick an institution and meant it.  Seeing Norm and Dick together always made me smile as I knew they were cooking up something interesting and wonderful for folks to partake in.
My heart goes out to both of you and your families,
