[Athen] JAWS and VM Ware

I have been using VMWare to run a RedHat 7 on top of Debien and I use screen 
program that I wrote over a decade ago to access them with a refreshable 
Braille display. So I am not using Jaws or any voice engine to access them.
VMWare is giving me recently hard time to maintain especially when I upgrade 
any substantial packages. It wants me to recompile it and it is very picky 
about having the matching GCC compiler and kernel.

I am considering to move away from VMWare and use Virtual box instead.
Can you please describe your experience installing and running Virtual box?
How complicated is installing an XP virtual machine in Virtual box?
