Can you provide a little more (but still general as this is a publically archived listserv) info about the use? What do you mean by "start up by voice"? Does this just mean start recording or to control all the standard functions, including playback, rewind, etc.

For dictation? Recording lectures? How is playback of audio used? Does the student have hands-free computer access? Would a few buttons pressed be acceptable, as long as it isn't continuous gripping/use?

I am attempting to find a virtually hands-free voice activated digital recorder. The student has severe tendonitis and needs a unit you can start up by voice. I haven't seen something like this, so let me know what your experiences are with such technology.
