Hi Justin,

Angel bought by Black board recently.
E- College  bought by Pearson  publishing recently.
Moodle is  pretty much open source community , no direct development/authority ( you need to rely heavy engineering guys internally.)

The only direct competitor of Blackboard right now is the ;"Desire to learn "to my  knowledge  and testings  on their latest version is not as compatible as blackboards 9.1 version.
Infact  blackboards 9.1 version is the only certified distance learning modue b y the National federation of the blind.
