Hi All ATHENites,



My Name is Joe Humbert. For those that do not know me, I have been working in the assistive technology field for 9 years at multiple Universities.  I have volunteered to coordinate the ATHEN response to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Standards and Guidelines Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking latest draft, more commonly known as the 508 refresh.



To do this, I will be creating a temporary separate list serve to discuss the response.  Once a draft response has been agreed upon, I will submit it to the list for general feedback.  The closing date for public comment is March 7th, so time is short. My goal is to submit the draft response to list full list on March 1st and submit the final response Monday March 5th. I will try to arrange an in person discussion for all participants who will be attending CSUN.



I am including a list below of those who have volunteered to help already.  If you are not on the list but would like to participate, please email me back directly (johumber at iupui.edu<mailto:johumber at iupui.edu>) and I will add you to the list.  I look forward to working with all who participate and to making our collective opinion heard.

Thanks for taking the lead. I received a voice message from Bill Lewis of San Francisco State University who seemed to think I was the lead.

He was expressing interest in participating and wanted to know what the next steps were.
