Hi Lisa,

As part of a project on transit communications for people with disabilities at the WGBH National Center for Accessible Media, we did an analysis of a number of transit apps to see how screen reader-friendly they are. Our results are available from the project web page:

The analysis is directly downloadable at:

You might want to look at NextBus. Some of their clients are universities, and their web-based bus tracker is quite accessible.

Subject: [Athen] Accessible GPS Bus Tracking Software

Is anyone aware of an accessible real time GPS bus tracking system for university bus tracking?

DoubleMap (http://www.doublemap.com/product) is an example GPS system, but they don’t seem to have an existing VPAT, (and we haven’t tested the product for 508 compliance).

Thank you in advance for your help.
