[Athen] Google Docs accessibility?

Hi everyone,

I am a screen reader user -- Jaws and VoiceOver. I know that Google talks about how accessible Google Docs is, but that hasn't been my experience.

When reading a GDOC file with Jaws there is at least a 3 second lagbetween the time I press a keystroke to the time Jaws reads the text I move to. I think I've done everything I am supposed to do, e.g. enable screen reader support, turn off the virtual cursor.

While it may be possible to create and edit a document in Google Docs, I find it slow, tedious and frustrating.

Am I missing something?

Is anyone using Google Docs successfully with a screen reader?

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Russell
