It is important to keep in my that the speech recognition on the iOS devices relies upon a live Internet connection as the processing isn't happening in the device, but being sent out to more powerful processors then returned to the local device.

I would have her try the Dragon Dictation app by Nuance. The app is free, and I’ve had many students have success with it.

Hey all,

I have a student with some physical limitations.  She has an iPad Pro and wants to be able to dictate documents, emails, messages, etc. without having to type everything.

I know there is dictation built in, but it doesn’t have enough features to be workable for her.  For example, if the iPad doesn’t recognize her sentence, there is no way (that I know of) to correct without having to manually delete the existing text and trying again.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a good speech recognition app for IOS?
