We used to encourage the use of NaturalReader, but a couple of years ago, many “commercials” started popping up. We now encourage the use of Balabolka and haven’t had any complaints (I use this myself quite often).

Take a deep breath, Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, Start all over again

Natural Reader is another software and/or app that would allow him to type and have the text read aloud. There is a free, downloadable version and an educational version (cost effective). If he uses a Bluetooth speaker, he can adjust the volume loud enough for the entire class to hear.

Do you have access to Read&Write? If so, you could try using the Speak As I Type feature, set to sentence. Then he could type a sentence and R&W would speak it out loud. Just one thought off the top of my head.

Subject: [Athen] Text to Speech Reader

An instructor of ours has had an unexpected health event that will leave him without a voice for a while. We are starting to investigate some text to speech readers that he can use in his classroom to communicate with his students. I am turning to the experts for any suggestions.
Your comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
