[Athen] Survey Question

I apologize, I don't know enough about Qualtrics to answer that.

If Qualtrics doesn't have such restrictions on its controls, then I might consider the survey design itself or try to find a different way to ask the same question. Other things to consider:

- How important is it to "force" the survey participant to only use a ranking once?

- Do you anticipate this to be a significant problem?

- If participants use a ranking more than once, what percentage of these responses will skew your data?

- Would it actually be desirable to allow participants to use the same ranking score more than once?

- How does a participant indicate they rate two separate items as being equally important?

Again, sorry for the unhelpful-ness. Just spitballing. Time for more coffee :)

I think the concern is that they do not want responders to rate any of the items with the same rating. They want people to rate 1-5 and use each number only once. Is there a way to do this with radio buttons so that if one has, for example, used #4, they cannot use #4 again unless they rerate one of the five items?

Would a set of radio buttons work? So, not a text field, but the choices listed with radio buttons next to them.

Good Morning,

We are using Qualtrics and have come upon an issue that we hope someone can assist us with. In the spirit of being inclusive, I would like us to use one survey versus two versions. Our research team has consulted with Qualtrics and they were not able to help us problem-solve. One of the types of questions we need to use requires the responder to rate a list of items in order of importance. The goal is to force the responder to only use to ratings once. The solution presented is to use a drag and drop rating system, which is not accessible. If we have the responder type in the rating of 1-5 into an edit field, it is accessible but we cannot control if a double or triple rating is typed in. What ideas do you have as possible solutions?
