Greetings Folks,

Question about iphones and Bluetooth hearing aids. I have a student with a hearing impairment who also has severe ADD. She reports she adjusts her hearing aid via her iphone app in every new environment she goes to using it as a sort of FM system which I guess is what a hearing aid really is. She doesn't like absolute quiet. She has requested to have her iphone with her when she takes tests because "if it is too far away from her or turned off" then she doesn't have a level of noise in order to focus on her tests. I think I am okay with this as long as her phone is a few feet away from where she's sitting. For anyone more knowledgeable about Bluetooth functionality, are there any concerns I should have in a testing setting. I know faculty could be concerned that a smartphone is nearby.

I imagine on high stakes, standardized tests like LSAT, administrators would have real issues...? (this is not the direction this student is going academically).

Thank you for any feedback,
