Happy Friday, ATHENites! ATHENians?

A campus partner has reached out to us with an alt text question, and we'd like to hear your thoughts. They host a digital humanities project, Mill Marginalia<https://millmarginalia.org/>, that centers around scanned images of book pages that serve to document notes taken in the margins. Here's an example: Institutionum Logicarum Libri Duo, Burgersdicius Franco<https://millmarginalia.org/library/FB-IL-1/1978>

How would you approach handling alternative text for such images? Do you think the function of the visual is described within the context or surroundings of the image itself? Are you aware of accessible approaches to similar projects that we might share?

Thanks so much, and happy Friday!
