Job Description:
Determine accommodations, counsel and assist in Services for Students
with Disabilities office, working with students across all disability
categories including but not limited to: learning, AD/HD, autism
spectrum disabilities, psychological, medical, Deaf/Hard of Hearing,
mobility, and visual.

Job Details:
Responsibilities

* Conduct interviews with families and current and prospective
students who have or may have disabilities in one or more disability
category, maintaining confidentiality as required by law.
* Review disability-related documentation, including
psychoeducational and neuropsychological reports to determine
eligibility and appropriate academic accommodations under Section 504
of the Rehabilitation Act, The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),
and the ADA Amendments Act.
* Meet with individual students and student groups for problem
solving, counseling, information dissemination, and program
development, using independent judgement in interpreting policies for
these groups.
* Work with individual faculty members, staff and appropriate
agencies and or individuals outside of the University to evaluate and
plan necessary academic accommodations for individual students.
* Work with other staff members and departments to support various
accessibility-related programs, initiatives, policies and procedures
including those involving housing, notetaking, Deaf/Hard of Hearing
services, outreach, funding/scholarships, and career services.
* Develop and advise groups for students with cognitive and
psychological disabilities.
* Prepare and deliver presentations and workshops for students,
faculty, and other University personnel and or divisions regarding
disabilities.
* Supervise graduate assistants and interns as needed in
psychology, social work, and related disciplines.
* Work with other staff members on assessment goals and
collecting, reviewing and interpreting departmental data.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social science, behavioral science,
or related field. A combination of three years of experience
administering student programs or developing student programs.
Experience reviewing psycho-educational reports, working within the
guidelines of the ADA, ADAAA and Section 504. Experience counseling
students or advising college students with disabilities. Experience
with crisis management and counseling. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Professional demeanor. Excellent communication skills. *Relevant
education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.*

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in education, psychology, social science, behavioral
science or related field. Experience in a higher education setting.
Experience with and/or commitment to social justice issues.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with diverse student populations.
Working experience determining academic accommodations, providing
therapeutic services and/or completing evaluations for individuals
with learning, attentional, autism spectrum, and/or psychological
disabilities.

Salary Range

$50,000 + depending on qualifications
