Hi Cyndi,

For the Smartbook specifically, in Google Chrome, adding the extension Read Aloud<https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/read-aloud-a-text-to-spee/hdhinadidafjejdhmfkjgnolgimiaplp?hl=en> could work.
Highlight the text, then right click and press "Read Aloud."

I hope that helps!

Otherwise, if the student could get access to the ebook in Connect that is not a Smartbook, there should be the built-in read aloud TTS in Connect.

Good afternoon. Hoping the expertise of this group can provide some suggestions. Are there any text-to-speech tools that will work within the McGraw Hill Connect platform? The student is using the Smartbook product for readings and assignments. (Note, the etext was already procured and working fine with her current AT tools).  Kurzweil does not work with Smartbook. We tried the screen shot reader in Read&Write. It works but it opens the content into a separate text reader or window (student did not like that). The MAC built in TTS tool did not work. The Read Aloud tool in the Microsoft Edge web browser worked very well but student reports Edge cannot be downloaded onto their older mac laptop.  Does anyone have any other suggestions when a student needs TTS inside of this platform to complete readings and homework problems?
