*ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:*

The mission of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) at University of
South Florida St. Petersburg campus is to create and maintain an
environment at the University that is supportive to students with
various accommodation needs. Student Accessibility Services will grant
academic accommodations to students with documented needs, providing
them with equitable and accessible education.

*POSITION SUMMARY:*

The Assistant Director will be the primary resource for the campus
community on all accessibility-related matters, taking a strong
leadership role in supporting students in accessing their full
educational opportunities. This position reports to the Director of
Wellness Center and Student Accessibility Services.

It is expected that the Assistant Director with work with the Director
and SAS staff to create a vision for the office, establish strategic
direction, manage budgets, supervise personnel, maintain appropriate
legal/ethical documentation, provide education/consultation to campus
partners, and advocate for an inclusive learning environment for all
students.

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

- Provide administrative oversight for all aspects of Student
Accessibility Services including developing effective policies,
procedures, and programs (including but not limited to accommodation
processes, testing services, coaching services, educational services,
etc).
- Train and supervise administrative and support staff.
- Manages daily operations and prepares annual budgets/reports.
- Develops annual learning and program outcomes.



- Review medical documentation, perform intake interviews, and
determine reasonable accommodations for equal access.
- Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators in the
delivery/implementation of accommodations.



- Provides accessibility training, consultation and awareness
programs for the campus community.



- Recruits, trains, and supervises SAS Academic Coaches.



- Collaborates and coordinates with SAS Tampa and SAS Sarasota
regarding accommodation issues, alignment of policies/procedures, and
database management.
- Participate in SAS system meetings with Tampa and Sarasota SAS teams.



- Participates in professional development via AHEAD conferences
and webinars.
- Maintains knowledge of accessibility issues regarding ADA
compliance and programmatic best practices.
- Supports the campus community as needed.


*POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:*

*MINIMUM:*

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related
to the program responsibilities and three years of professional
experience; or Master's degree and three
years of professional experience.

*PREFERRED:*

Preferred qualifications include: experience working in a higher
educational setting, experience in working with a wide variety of
accessibility needs, experience in working with a diverse population,
experience working with electronic record management system,
experience providing educational programs and training, and experience
providing and/or supervising coaching services.
