[Athen] Accessible webinar/video conferencing software

I agree with Robert. I’ve had no luck accessing the Go To Meeting platform with JAWS. It works better on the Mac with VoiceOver, but it’s still not great there either. WebEx is okay but not easy to navigate and interact with using a screen reader. Zoom is accessible with a screen reader, and so is Google Meet and MS Teams, as Robert said.

Hope this helps,

Russell

Go To Meeting (Log me In) is an absolute no, as I can't interact with this at all with my screen reader. My most recent experience with this was when attempting to join a Texthelp webinar; for some reason, they use Go To Meeting (I really can't imagine why anyone does when there are way better options out there), but Texthelp assures me that they will be moving from this to another platform sometime this year. I personally don't understand the delay, but there it is. Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, the other two popular ones that come to mind, are fine.

I know this has been asked before, and I’ve looked through the list archives, but the most recent thread I found was in 2016, and things have changed so much since then.
We’re reviewing our own platform and software for online live video conferences. Any thoughts about accessibility in any of the major brand-named options, such as:

• Zoom

• Zoom Professional

• WebEx

• Go To Meeting (Log me In)

• ZoHo Meeting

• BlueJeans

• Other?
