Hi all,
I recognize this was discussed sometime last July, but I thought I would reach out to see if anyone had any updated information about real-time discussion boards, such as Padlet and Jamboard.
We are working with a student who is using a refreshable braille display with the use of JAWS. During class, students have been asked to post thoughts and comments onto this discussion board. The student is able to read through the comments posted by peers on these sites but has had issues entering text and submitting their thoughts within the sites.
I have offered alternatives such as a shared Google Doc and Canvas discussion board, but the instructor prefers a tool with similar visual engagement. We have contemplated having the student submit their ideas to the TA who will then post it to the site but I am hoping there is an alternative that meets both needs and provides the student equal access. If you have any options that are screen reader friendly or any tips on how this student can best navigate these sites, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Katy Wong
