I hadn't heard that term used except with the Equidox cloud-based PDF remediation tool.  It uses that term for zones like text, headings, tables and so on.

Greetings,
    I am new to the field and my predecessor makes a few references to "zoning a book" in their notes but not much detail is included.  Googling has only presented me with other forms of zoning, so could someone please explain what "zoning" is in reference to making a book more accessible, as well as some tips for this process.
