Hi Robert,

Abbyy FindReader has a screenshot reader available separate from the OCR
package. You can try it for free. It's a relatively small
investment ($9.99) and works fairly well. It does not use the same cloud
set up as Read & Write does. It might be worth it for your student to take
a look at this.
