You can also remove the PDF/UA "information" with Acrobat's Preflight panel.
I've attached a graphic, but am not sure it will make it through this email
system. Here are the written steps, aka alt-text:
>From the Preflight panel in Acrobat, select Preflight.
1. Choose PDF Standards from the top drop-down menu.
2. Choose the Profiles tab.
3. Change to the blue wrench icon in the middle (Have no idea what its
name is).
4. Move to the Document info and Metadata section and expand to choose
Remove PDF/UA information.
5. Click the Fix button at the lower right (another blue wrench icon).

The PDF/UA identifier is voluntary and "validates" that the PDF does comply
with the international standard. With that identifier comes expectations
that the PDF is actually accessible.
Since someone must physically put the PDF/UA identifier/sticker on the PDF,
anyone can claim PDF/UA conformance, even on a PDF that is not accessible.
It is up to the PDF remediator or the content author converting the content
to tagged PDF to be honest enough to only put the identifier on accessible
conforming PDF.
I have a PDF that I cannot make accessible but someone has put the PDF/UA
identifier on it saying that the PDF IS accessible. I need to be able to
remove that claim so that people don't expect an accessible PDF when they
open the document.

Hello, unsure of what PDF/UA is, I looked it up and see that it's
PDF/Universal Access. The article I read then goes on to talk about the
importance of tagging documents and such. It sounds like the PDF/UA
attribute is a good thing. Why would someone want to remove it?

I had to do this a couple of times a year or so ago. I went into Acrobat
Pro, Properties, Additional Metadata and then I deleted the PDF/UA entry and
saved it and it gets rid of the PDF/UA identifier. That is the only way I
could do it.
