[Athen] Bluetooth microphone for Otter.ai in classrooms

I do believe it’s suggested to use the Bluetooth settings for Zoom and Team sessions only, and not for live courses.

Unless you can get it working with a Phonak Roger pen or something similar. While I have had to Roger Pen sync’d to my phone for streaming audio to CART services, via WebEx, I haven’t used it with Otter. The student would have to be within 10 feet of the professor, and professors who move around can move out of audio range.

Another option would be to leave the mobile device/laptop near the instructor and the student can view Otter on their other device.

Best,

Joshua

Subject: [Athen] Bluetooth microphone for Otter.ai in classrooms
Hi folks,

I’m working with a student who will be using Otter.ai for voice transcription in classes in the coming semester. Does anyone have experience with using an external Bluetooth microphone with Otter? And if so, have you had a good experience with any particular models? I’m wondering if it could provide a better transcript.

Thanks,
