Dear ATHEN colleagues,

Washington state's 34 community and technical colleges use PeopleSoft applications across our college system, and we are advocating for accessibility improvements for our users.

Does your college also use PeopleSoft? If so, the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) would like to hear from you!

Please take 5 minutes to complete this PeopleSoft User Survey for Educause IT Accessibility Group<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfUKGC9P1er55gPnRyfKznVyaYvVoaTx5g3lEhs4QqwDU4pHA/viewform>.

Below is additional information about the goal of the survey. Thank you for your valuable input.

Oracle PeopleSoft User Survey for Educause IT Accessibility User Group

August 2023

Context

The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) is an agency that serves Washington state's 34 community and technical colleges. Over the last decade SBCTC has worked to facilitate the procurement and adoption of PeopleSoft software<https://www.oracle.com/applications/peoplesoft/> across our entire college system. PeopleSoft is developed by Oracle<https://www.oracle.com/> and is an electronic information and records system used by students, staff, and faculty to complete tasks such as class registration, academic advising, budget management and more. Here is information about Oracle's accessibility policies and standards.<https://www.oracle.com/corporate/accessibility/policy.html>

Furthermore, there are persistent technical and design accessibility issues that impact the experience of disabled users in the PeopleSoft environment. Our agency performs internal functional testing, advocates for improvement during monthly meetings with Oracle, and hosts an accessibility open forum for our college stakeholders to help keep everyone informed.

Goal of the Survey

The goal of this survey is to help SBCTC to gain a better understanding of how many colleges/institutions within this Educause group also use PeopleSoft applications at their college/institution. If so, SBCTC would also like to know if your college is tracking accessibility issues, if your college is engaged with Oracle representatives or not, and finally, if your college is interested in partnering with SBCTC in our advocacy efforts.

How will this information be used?

The results of this survey will be reviewed by the Accessibility team members at SBCTC, the agency's Chief Information Officer, and the Executive Director. The results of the survey will not be shared or posted publicly and will not be shared with Oracle.

A question is included that will allow the person completing the survey to give permission for their answers to be shared with the other colleges/institutions that have completed the survey or not.
