## Sensing the Archives: Making archives fun for blind and visually impaired students

Ellen Oredsson, Digital Projects Officer – Education & Outreach
The National Archives

“How can archival collections be made not only accessible but fun and engaging for visually impaired audiences?
Ellen Oredsson looked to answer this question as part of the 2023-24 TNA/RLUK Professional Research Fellowship Scheme.
This culminated in the creation of a pilot workshop trialled by blind and partially sighted students from New College Worcester in March 2024.
In this session, she will share how the workshop was designed, creating tactile versions of archival documents, and the outcomes of the pilot.”
