Hello Ali,
White boards have the ability to save what is written into documents that can be sent to the students that can be sent to a student, or displayed in Blackboard or LMS for all students to have access to the notes. Then a notetaker is not needed at all. If a person has it digitally, they can enlarge it to their specifications.

Exporting the whiteboard content to a file

1. On the whiteboard toolbar, tap Share .
2. Select PDF to save as a PDF file, or Save a copy to save it as a SMART Notebook file.
3. Choose the location to save the file to. You can save it locally, or to a connected drive or device.

Also, there are small items that can be purchased that connect to a laptop that will enhance the written board in real time through a camera head, it is mobile, light, and has worked on occasion for labs, etc.. We have the Transformer HD<https://www.enhancedvision.com/low-vision-product-line/transformer-hd-portable-electronic-magnifier.html> with Wi-Fi and OCR.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

For low vision students, what are you using for reading content on a white board? Obviously we are focusing on getting notes and lecture materials in advance, recording lectures, etc.. But for a low vision student in a math class for example, what tech are you using for them to easily zoom in on an instructor working out problems on a white board? We are looking at the IPIVO camera or the Davinci but would love feedback on what is working well for your students.

Warmly,

Ali Steenis
