In April, the Department of Justice issued its final rule for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”). These updates require state and local governments, including Higher Ed institutions, to make sure that their services, programs, and activities are accessible to people with disabilities. The final rule will be in effect as of June 24, 2024, and institutions will have two to three years to comply with the newly updated technical standards of Title II, depending on their respective populations.
