Undergraduate Student Research Assistantship Opportunity - Interactive Web Developer & Data Analyst

 

About the position

Hourly wage: $17.50/hour

Hours per week: 40 hours (Work within regular office hours. Flexible work schedule possible.)

Start Date: July 5, 2022 or until filled

End date: September 30, 2022

Office location: Columbia Basin Research, UW, 1325 4th Avenue, Suite 1515, Seattle, WA 98101

(Work in a hybrid setting. Remote work possible.)

Faculty/Lab Supervisor: Gosselin Lab; Dr. Jennifer Gosselin <gosselin at uw.edu <mailto:gosselin at uw.edu> >

 

Work responsibilities:

-        Assist in developing R Shiny apps for interactive predictive modeling

-        Assist in other customized graphical interfaces as they arise

-        Collaborate with Researchers, Database Manager and Web Computing Specialist to better understand needs of website users and develop interactive online tools

-        Co-author a paper for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal

-        Participate in discussions at lab meetings

-        Be part of a supportive work environment that strives to support each other’s professional and personal growth, and that advances integration of DEI in daily work

 

Programming skills desired, but not required:

-        Quantitative analytical skills

-        R; Shiny

-        Responsive design, testing, debugging, code versioning

-        JavaScript, HTML, CSS

-        Python
