In 2018, snowboarder Brenna Huckaby became the first Paralympic 
athlete to be featured in the SI Swimsuit Issue. The three-time 
Paralympic gold medalist was photographed by James Macari in Aruba.   

"I never even thought about a woman with an amputation or whatever 
the case may be ... in Sports Illustrated," the mom of two said at the 
time. "I´m overwhelmed with such positive emotion because I knew this 
day would come, but I didn´t think that I would be the one to make 
this day happen. It´s made me more confident in myself and in any 
woman or any body with a disability and what they are facing. It´s 
made me more motivated to help and inspire."
