The copyright concern was not over the text of the book, but on using
the MP3 format which is supposedly protected by pattten.  I have not
heard about the court case you refer to, but would like to read about it
if you have a link.

Hmmm, I don't see the connection.  I am producing the MP3's, using
permission from the publisher and having had the student purchased the
book, so that takes care of that copyright issue.  The supposed
"copyright of MP3 format you can't have it because we own it" issue
was
resolved a month or so ago by a court and is no longer a concern, if
it
ever was in the first place.
