Good evening there are Arabic language engines available for both JAWS and
HAL. As far as Arabic OCR packages go Ibsar from Aramedia may be the only
game in town.

Subject: [Athen] Arabic Screen Reading and OCR
Hello,
We have a blind student who will be taking Arabic 1. Although he does not
use Braille, he is an experienced JAWS user. The only screen reader and OCR
software I have found is Ibsar. It has an Arabic/English TTS engine and can
OCR bilingual (Arabic/English) documents. Have any of you had experience
with Ibsar? Do you know of any other ways to provide access to writing and
reading Arabic for people who are blind?
Thanks very much,
Ellen
