Hi Dawn,

I just read your post again and realized that I missed something the first
time.

the "image" option and transfers the text into Word as an image.

If you do not zone the text (either with the "automatic" feature or manually
by drawing the zones), then it cannot give you anything but a graphic.
Without the zoning, you have not actually told OmniPage to do the OCR, so it
will always give you a graphic format (PDF, TIFF, JPEG, etc.).

I have a simple OmniPage manual if you would like it. Just contact me
off-list.

Good luck!

Subject: [Athen] Conversion of PDF files = Blank document

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone else is running into an issue with converting PDF
files into an accessible format?

We have an image-based PDF with no security options selected. We use
Omnipage to convert the file into a Word document and the document is full
of blank pages. If we don't zone the text in Omnipage to be recognized,
Omnipage selects the "image" option and transfers the text into Word as an
image.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Dawn
