Job Description:
The California Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities (CCEPD)
is a statewide committee charged in statute with: (1) consulting and
advising the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency (LWDA) and
Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) on all issues related to full
inclusion in the workforce of persons with disabilities, including
development of a comprehensive strategy; and (2) coordination and leadership
of efforts to increase inclusion in the workforce of persons with
disabilities including, but not limited to, one annual event for youth with
disabilities.
Staff Services Manager I
Under the general direction of the CCEPD Executive Officer, the Staff
Services Manager I is responsible for direct supervision of Committee staff
to ensure effective implementation of the Committee's financial, operations,
and administrative functions, including, but not limited to:.
. Development, management, and monitoring of Committee policies and
procedures, budget, contracts, billing and invoices as well as other support
and administrative activities in accordance with California's Workforce
Inclusion Act, Assembly Bill 925 and amended in Assembly Bill 119;
. Committee meeting planning and logistics, including implementation
of workgroups, data analysis, preparation of materials, and compliance with
Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act requirements; and
. Coordination and leadership of the Committee's annual event for
youth with disabilities, the California Youth Leadership Forum for Students
with Disabilities (YLF).
Desired Qualifications:
Ability to: Direct, motivate, and manage the work of Committee staff; plan,
execute, monitor, and close Committee-related projects; establish and
maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and
external stakeholders, including members of the Committee and disability
community; and excellent oral and written communication and decision making
skills.
Knowledge of: budgeting, financial, contract, procurement, and project
management; methods of administrative problem solving; disability employment
policy at the national, state, and local levels; the organization and
functions of California State Government; principles and practices of policy
formulation and development; the Department's mission and goals; and the
organization and operation of the model California Youth Leadership Forum
for Students with Disabilities (YLF).
Special Personal Characteristics:
. Personal experience with disability preferred;
. Experience working with Boards and Committees and the disability
community preferred; and
. Willingness to travel.
