I was fortunate to serve as the contract Counselor/LD Specialist for the past 7 years and can attest to how rewarding this work has been. “Under the supervision of the DSPS Director, the Learning Disability Specialist (“LD Specialist”) will provide learning disability assessments for all referred clients; will develop workshops for staff and clients on the issues related to learning disabilities and the accommodations that can support employment. The candidate will coordinate with the seven CalWORKs offices in the San Diego area to provide assessment on a rotating basis to all offices during each month of operation. The LD Specialist will establish and maintain confidential records of client’s assessments and report activity to the director for proper invoicing.”
