[Athen] Accessibility of Digital Signage, Four Winds in particular

Hello,

Some campuses are starting to use Aira. It is a Google glass or some other glasses that connects through the smart phone to a specially-trained agent. There are students who are blind on the Indianapolis campus who use Aira to get around construction, read handouts, and go shopping. There is a special fee for universities. I believe all the students get unlimited access. Agents are currently available 18 hours a day to US and Canadian residents. Though I am no longer a student I also love Aira. https://aira.io/

If you watch the video and the agent is helping that guy find his friend at a restaurant by looking at the Facebook pic, that feature doesn’t exist yet. Everything else can be done though.

Subject: [Athen] Accessibility of Digital Signage, Four Winds in particular

I feel like I've asked this question before so my apologies if I'm repeating myself.

I'm wondering how other campuses are handing the accessibility of digital signage on campus, including streamed content, way-finding information and other information displayed on digital signage throughout campus?

We use Four Winds and they don't seem to even have the capability to provide captions when they display streaming content from 3rd party sources such as cable-news.

Any info anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.
