At Ohio State we have:
1 Assistive Technology Director in our ADA Coordinator's office who handles staff AT needs.
1 FTE Digital Accessibility Director (me) (split 50% with Disability Services and the ADA Coordinator's Office)
50% Graduate Admin Associate on my team
1 Accessibility Analyst within our CIO's Office.
50%FTE Sr. Instructional Designer in our Distance Education team
1 client Engineer serving as our AT Coordinator in Disability Services
I think that is light, and we are hoping to add 2 FTEs over the next 2-3 months.
Staffing is only one part of the picture, though; we have a very strong ADA Coordinator / compliance officer who has the ability to make things stick and that is key. Our CIO has also been very supportive, and that has made his teams supportive as well.
Individual people usually want to do the right thing but real, sustainable change has to be supported from the top down. You can only get so much done via grassroots methods.

Subject: [Athen] staffing for technology accessibility

Last month the question was raised about how many staff members on your campus are focused on technology accessibility. I only saw one response. I am interested in the answer to this question also so would appreciate any information you can provide regarding staffing.

We currently have one full-time staff member and one 30% FTE.

Thank you.

Sharon
