Unfortunately I don't have an alternative for you, but I would recommend having somebody available to assist the student when they start using Dragon if you go that route. I'm a regular Dragon user myself and I think it would be incredibly difficult to get started without some use of my hands. If I'm remembering correctly, it does not automatically open on start up until after you enable that setting. Even now that I have that setting enabled, I cannot use Dragon until I have logged into my profile. Although if I'm wrong, I would love to know...

Subject: [Athen] Options Other Than Dragon with Math Talk?
[External Email]
Hi all,
I am working with a quadriplegic student who needs to take a math course next quarter. The student typically uses a stylus held in their mouth on a tablet to type and do some homework.
We are looking into getting the student set up with Dragon and Math Talk to be able to do math verbally but this will take some time as the student does not yet have a computer equipped with this tech.
What other solutions have you used for students with similar barriers? Are there other tech options out there that we aren't thinking of? Do you provide a scribe for homework for this kind of situation?
Thanks so much in advance!
Warmly,
Ali Steenis
