It's Spring, and whether you are a first-time freshman, transfer or running start student, NOW is a good time to plan for scholarships and opportunities while at UW and beyond. CONNECT & GAIN EXPERIENCE

Volunteer with the Undergraduate Research Symposium: The Undergraduate Research Program (URP) is seeking volunteers for this year’s UW <https://www.washington.edu/undergradresearch/symposium/> Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, May 19, 2023. Our volunteers are critical to the success of the Symposium. Thank you for your consideration and for circulating this announcement!

This year’s event will take place fully in person, and there are a variety of volunteer opportunities taking place between 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Brief descriptions of volunteer roles are available on the <https://www.washington.edu/undergradresearch/symposium/volunteer-at-the-undergraduate-research-symposium/> Symposium Volunteer Page. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts (as long as the times do not conflict). Breakfast and lunch will be available for volunteers on the day of the event to keep you fueled!



Fashion Scholarship Fund Case Study: Scholarship awards are $7,500. Students interested in any aspect of the fashion and merchandising industry are encouraged to apply. Rising sophomores, juniors and seniors apply as individuals.

This year’s case questions focus on digital strategy, brand awareness, and product development aligning with a brand. Attached to this email is a flyer with links to a visual format of the case studies that are accessible online (Link and QR code access). UW Labor Studies Scholarships and Fellowships - Apply Now!
The Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies has seven scholarships and fellowships that are open to undergraduate and graduate students, with funding that ranges from $5,000 to $10,000 depending on the award. Union Summer - Paid Labor Internship. Union Summer is a seven week, fully paid internship in the Seattle area that provides experiences in the daily work of labor unions, from member engagement to political campaigns, as well educational days focused on labor history and other topics. The program runs from June 20-August 5, 2023, and the deadline to apply is Friday, April 28, 2023.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), an environmental non-profit organization, is offering several paid summer internships in study areas including climate science, health science, and/or policy analysis, grounded in Indigenous knowledge and perspectives, with a focus on the implications of fossil fuel and pipeline development. The internships are open to all qualified candidates, with a stated preference for students enrolled in Tribal Colleges and Universities, including institutions serving Indigenous student populations, and those serving geographically isolated or underserved populations. The internships are available to both undergrad and grad students.
